Is your “C” drive space getting full in Windows 8? Wish to move some of the personal folders to some other drive partition to free up the “C” drive space? If your answer to these questions are a yes, then you have landed on a right page.
Here I am going to provide the step by step procedure to move your personal folder in “C” drive to some other drive partition in your Windows 8 computer.
How To Move Personal Folders In “C” Drive To Another Drive In Windows 8?
Step 1: To get started, first open your personal folder from My Computer -> C:\Users\user name. (Replace user name with your computer name).
Step 2: Next, right-click on the folder that you wish to move to another drive in Windows 8 and click on Properties” option.
Step 3: Once done, the “Properties” window will open up as shown in the picture below.
Step 4: In that select the “Location” tab then click the “Move” button.
Step 5: Now this will open up the “Select a Destination” window as shown in the screenshot below.
Step 6: Next, select the required location where you wish to move the folder. Here you can select any other folder in Windows 8 (which is located in other drive partitions) or another computer that is connected to your network.
Step 7: Once you have selected the destination folder, click on the “OK” button and then click on “YES” from the pop-up to move the files to the selected destination.
That’s it. You have successfully moved files from your personal drive to other partition in your Windows 8 computer. By this way you can move all of your personal folders to some other location to free up some memory in the “C” drive.
Note: If you wish to redo the changes and want the folders back in the original location, then simply click on the “Restore Default” button in the properties dialog box.
