Have you forgotten your Gmail or Facebook password? Have you used your browser to auto-save the password but it won’t reveal the exact characters behind the asterisks. Well, here is a simple step by step tutorial to reveal your password behind asterisks.
How To Reveal Your Password Hidden Behind Asterisks:
Step 1: To get started, open up your browser where you have auto-saved the password. Now right-click on your password field and select “Inspect Element” or simply press “ctrl + shift + I” buttons in your keyboard as shown in the picture given below.
Note: This method will work on all browsers such as Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, Safari, etc.
Step 2: Once you do that, the “Document Inspector” Window will open up in the right side or at the bottom of your browser screen.
Step 3: Change the field “Password” in this line <input type="password" name="session_password" id="login-password" aria-required="true" placeholder="Password"> to “text” as shown below.
Step 4: Once you change the “Password” field to “text”, you will be able to see your password as shown in the screenshot given below.
By this way you can retrieve your forgotten password behind asterisks, if it is auto-saved in your browser. However, you can’t find your hidden password using this method, if you have deleted your cache and the saved passwords from the browser.
