Created a blog on blogger? Want to back up your blogger template as well as your blog posts? Well, you can do it pretty easily now with the help of import and export features available in the new version of blogger. Using this new feature, you can easily import or export your blogger blog directly from your dashboard itself.
In this tutorial, I have provided the step by step procedure for backing up your blogger template and blog posts using the blogger’s default import and export feature. Let’s check it out.
How To Back Up Your Blogger Template And Blog Posts?
Step 1: Login to your blogger account and open the dashboard as shown below.
Step 2: In your dashboard choose “Other” option under the “Settings” menu.
Step 3: The “Import & Backup page” will open up. Now click on “Backup Content” option to safely back up your blog. This will download the copy of your blog posts along with all the comments in an XML file.
Step 4: Next, to import or back up your blogger blog template, click on the “Template” option in your blogger dashboard.
Step 5: Now in the template page, click on the “Backup/Restore” Button. Once you have clicked that button, a copy of your blogger template will download in an XML file format.
That’s it. Now you have successfully taken back up of blogger templates and blog posts. You can use these XML files to restore your blog at anytime (if they get crashed or if someone deleted your blog accidentally).
Note: Using this XML back up, you can move your blog from blogger to WordPress. To find out how to do that, watch out for our next tutorial where we will explain how to move from blogger to WordPress without losing any traffic.
