Are you searching for a way to bring back the quick launch menu in your Windows? If yes is your answer, then your search ends here. In this post, I am going how you can quickly bring back the quick launch bar in your Windows PC.
The Quick Launch Menu bar was introduced in Windows XP, and it will be presented in the far left corner of the Taskbar next to the Start button. It provides an easy and quick way to access your programs and your desktop.
In Windows 7, the Quick Launch bar was removed from the Taskbar due to some reasons. But, don’t worry. It can still be available on Windows 7, 8, and 10 if you know how to get it back. Using this Quick Launch Menu bar, you can quickly access your favorite apps at ease. Let us discuss the steps.
Note: These steps will work on all the versions of Windows like Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 8.1, and Windows 10.
Steps To Bring Back The Quick Launch Bar In Windows:
Step 1: To get started right click on an empty space in your windows task bar and select Toolbars -> New Toolbar from the context menu.
Step 2: This will now open up the Choose A Folder dialog box as shown below.
Step 3: Now enter the location given below in the dialog box and hit Enter.
%APPDATA%\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch
Step 4: Once done, the Folder Quick Launch will be automatically listed in the Folders: text box. Click on Select Folder button.
Step 5: The Quick Launch Toolbar will now be added to your taskbar, but it will be available in the right corner of the taskbar. To bring back the original Quick Launch menu, just drag the Quick Launch icon to the left corner of the taskbar next to the Windows Start button.
Step 6: If you are unable to move the icon, then you need to unlock the taskbar. To unlock the taskbar, again right-click on an empty space in the taskbar and click Lock The Taskbar from the context menu.
Step 7: Next, we are going to hide the text and display only the Quick Launch Menu’s icon (the two smaller arrows). To do this, right click on the two arrows and click Show Title to un-check the option.
Step 8: Now again lock the task bar as you did in step 6.
That’s it. You have now successfully added the quick launch menu to your Windows taskbar. Add any number of applications to this quick launch bar as per your wish and access it in just a single click.
