CCleaner turns to be the most popular freemium apps to clean up your PC, because of it easy to use and powerful User Interface. So I am certain that most of your wish to run the CCleaner at least once in a day to clean up your PC. But what if there is a shortcut that lets CCleaner run in the silent mode? Exciting right.
With a hotkey to quickly launch it using the Shortcut file is the best way to achieve this. Follow the steps below to get started.
Steps To Create A Keyboard Shortcut Key To Run CCleaner:
Selecting The CCleaner Services:
Step 1: First, before creating the Shortcut, you need to decide which settings you want to run automatically. Open CCleaner and select the services that you wish to run.
Step 2: Now navigate to the Options -> Advanced from the left pane. In the Advanced options select “Save all settings to INI file” checkbox to save the chosen settings automatically to an INI file in the same directory.
Creating The Shortcut:
Step 3: After selecting the services, close the CCleaner and right click on the desktop, select New -> Shortcut to create a Shortcut file.
Step 4: This will now open up the New Shortcut Wizard. In the location text box, you need to enter the location of the CCleaner’s Installation path. Browse your PC to the location and enter the location in the text box provided and click Next. The path will be:
Step 5: Now you need to add the /AUTO switch to the end of this location to make sure that the CCleaner is running automatically. Also, don’t forget to add a space between the path and the /AUTO switch. Now the path will look like,
“C:\Program Files\CCleaner\CCleaner.exe” /AUTO
Step 6: Enter your desired name like “Run CCleaner” in the text box provided and click “Finish.”
Note: The name can be anything as per your wish.
Step 7: This will now create the Shortcut. To assign a hotkey, right click on the created shortcut and select Properties from the context menu.
Step 8: Under the Shortcut Tab you may find a text box to mention the Shortcut key. Enter your desired shortcut key in the space provided. By default, every key will be accompanied with Ctrl + Alt as shown below.
That’s it. You have now successfully created a shortcut key to run the CCleaner. From now onwards, whenever you press the shortcut key, CCleaner will begin to execute the selected services and cleans up your PC automatically.
