How To Enable Internet Information Server (IIS) In Windows 7?

Are you a developer and searching for a way to access the Visual database remotely? If yes is your answer, then the first thing you need to do is to enable the IIS on the server. In this guide, I am going to explain the steps to enable Internet Information Server (IIS) on your Windows 7 PC.

By default, your Windows version may not come with IIS. You need to manually enable it in the Advanced Windows Features in Control Panel. But, the limitation here is, you will get access to some of the minimum features of IIS if you install it through Control Panel.

If you need additional IIS features, such as Web Management Tools or Application Development Features, make sure that you have selected the check box associated with them in Windows Features Dialog box. By enabling IIS on the server, you are going to create a Website server which the clients use to connect to HTTP or HTTPS (for SSL).
