How To Get Windows 10 Start Menu In Windows 7?

Are you searching for a way to customize your Windows 7 PC? Wish to customize your Windows 7 computer as a Windows 10 computer? If yes is your answer for both of these question, then you landed on the right page. In this tutorial, I am going explain how to get Windows 10 start menu in Windows 7.

The Windows 10 start menu is a combination of Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 start menu. The left side of the Windows 10 start menu will look like the traditional old windows seven start menu, and on the right side, it includes the app tiles that can be customized as per your wish.

The concept here is simple. If you are on Windows 7 and to experience the Windows 10 start menu, you can download ViStart program (which will help you to customize your start menu) and a Windows 10 skin for ViStart. Let us discuss the steps in detail.

Steps To Get Windows 10 Start Menu In Windows 7:

Step 1: To get started, visit the ViStart official web page and download the app.

Step 2: Once downloaded, locate the file in the Windows Explorer and double click on it to Run the program.

Step 3: When you are prompted to grant permission to Run the program click “Run.”

Step 4: In the ViStart Setup Welcome wizard, click “Next.”

Step 5: The next window will prompt you to accept the Terms and Conditions. Click “Accept” in the bottom right corner of the window.

Step 6: On successful installation, you will be able to see the screen given below. Don’t do anything here.

Step 7: Now download the Windows 10 Skin pack from here.

Step 8: Locate the downloaded file, right-click on it and select Extract Files from the context menu.

Step 9: This will now extract the downloaded RAR file, as shown below.

Step 10: Press Win + R on your keyboard to open RUN command. In the Run Box and type %appdata%\ViStart\_skins and click Ok to open the ViStart’s Skins folder.

Step 11: Now copy all the skin files from step 9 and paste it in the ViStart Skins Folder.

Step 12: Right click on the Windows icon and select Options to open the ViStart Control Panel.

Step 13: Under Styles, select your desired skin from the drop down.

Changing The Skin

That’s it. Now your Windows 7 Start Menu is customized like a Windows 10 Start Menu. With this ViStart, you can install any version of skin and customize your PC with some great features.
