As we all know, Windows comes packed with several fonts, but they are just the tip of the iceberg. There are hundreds and thousands of fonts available to download online, so there’s always the chance that the perfect font for your project is just a few clicks away. Once you’ve found the right font, you can install and use it in just a few clicks. Let us discuss it in detail.
Steps To Add Fonts In Microsoft Word:
Step 1: To get started, first you need to download a font that you wish to add to Microsoft Word. There are numerous site to download your favorite fonts like,
Visit any of the trusted and official sites to download the font. For example, I am going to open the first link in my browser.
Step 2: Browse for your favorite font and click Download below the selected Font. Now this will download the zip file of the selected font.
Step 3: Locate the downloaded font file, right-click on it and select Extract File.
Step 4: Select the location to store the extracted file and click OK.
Step 5: Now open up folder where you have extracted the font and keep it aside.
Step 6: To add the fonts to Microsoft Word or any other program, you need to open the control panel first. Go to Start and click on Control Panel.
Step 7: If your Control Panel view is set to Category view, then you need to change it to the Icon view. Click the View By arrow in the top right corner and select either Large Icon or Small Icon.
Step 8: Locate the item Fonts in the Control Panel and click on it to view the list of installed fonts.
Step 9: Drag and drop the ftt and ott files from the downloaded fonts folder to the Fonts section of the control panel. Now the fonts will be installed and added to the list of installed fonts.
Step 10: Now open the Microsoft Word, and select the added font from the Font List.
That’s it. The selected font is successfully added now. You can now use this font in any of the installed application in your Windows PC like Microsoft Word.
