Here is a step by step guide that will help you to pin websites to Windows Taskbar and let you access them in just a click.
By default, you can pin your favorite programs like your apps to your taskbar for quicker access. Likewise, you can also pin your favorite website to quickly access it by creating a shortcut file.
Steps To Pin Websites To Windows Taskbar:
Step 1: To get started, you need to create a shortcut file first. Right-click on your desktop and select New -> Shortcut to create a shortcut file.
Step 2: This will now open up the Create Shortcut Wizard.
Step 3: In the location bar, enter the location where your browser is installed followed by the URL of your favorite website.
For instance, if you wish to pin Free Tech Tutors website to your taskbar type the following path.
“C:\Program Files (x86)\Google\Chrome\Application\Chrome.exe” https://freetechtutors.com/
Note: This path will open the link in chrome browser. You can also use any browser of your choice just by using its installation path.
Don’t forget to enclose the path with quotations.
Step 4: Click “Next”. Now you will be asked to enter a name for your shortcut. Type the name in the text box and click “Finish”.
Step 5: The wizard will exit now and you may find the created shortcut file on your desktop as shown in the below screenshot.
Step 6: To pin it to the taskbar, simply click and drag the shortcut to the taskbar.
That’s it. You have successfully pinned your favorite website to your Windows taskbar. Now, click on the shortcut to launch the website.
