So let’s find out the solution with simple step by step process for removing duplicates in Google sheets.
Remove Duplicates In Google Sheets
Step 1: Open the Google spreadsheet which contains all the data and where you plan to remove duplicate contents.
Step 2: Now, we are going to filter those duplicate contents and add the unique contents in the next column. For implementing this, you have to select the first cell in a new column where you want to save the unique contents.
Step 3: In that selected cell, Enter the function =UNIQUE( and you have to select the column from which you wish to fetch data.
Step 4: As you can see from the screenshot above, I am trying to find duplicate data in the A column. So, I have selected it. You can choose any column of your choice. Also, after selecting the column don’t forget to close parentheses.
Now, just hit enter to get unique results for column A in the selected column C.
Step 5: If in case, you would need to find unique content in two columns (columns A and B), you can follow the same procedure given above i.e., enter the function =UNIQUE( in the first of the column where you want to save the unique contents and then select both the columns (A and B) and close parentheses.
Once done, hit enter to get unique content of both columns A and B.
That’s it. Now you have figured out how to remove duplicates in the google sheets. Make use of it and use google spreadsheets in a smarter way.
